Journey Guide

From conception to the first few months of parenthood there is so much to process, learn, and explore. When beginning this work I quickly noticed a potential need for many pregnant people; someone to accompany them on this transformational journey to ensure they feel supported and comfortable with all the twists and turns along the way. As your guide we will meet at least five times prenatally in your home and in nature to discuss a variety of topics that come up throughout the journey. I will also be available via phone, text, or email as soon as you hire me to actively listen and if you wish, provide evidence-based and anecdotal information. This arrangement includes suggested readings for discussion and preparation.

The Journey Guide package includes:

  • Between five and seven in-person meetings throughout your pregnancy where we will:

    • Discuss health and nutrition to reduce the risk of gestational diabetes and preeclampsia

    • Have “Book club” style dialogue on recommended literature

    • Do proactive planning to avoid a positive GBS test, perineal tearing, and other less than ideal scenarios

    • Walk and process the journey while in nature with referrals to healing experts if interested

  • Full birth doula package support (see below for more details)

  • Unlimited call/text/email support throughout pregnancy and for six weeks postpartum

$2,500, scholarships available

Birth Doula

As your birth doula I offer:

Prenatal: three prenatal consultations (~1-2 hours each, in addition to our initial interview) where we discuss your desires for your birth, childbirth preparations, comfort measures, and any other concerns/questions you have.

Labor/delivery: on-call for you from week 37-birth and available as soon as you need me when you go into labor (either meeting at your home or at the hospital/birth center). I will stay with you continuously until you give birth and for a few hours after.

Postpartum: two postpartum visits sometime in the first two weeks to debrief the birth and make sure you have all the resources you need once you are home and settled.

$1,500, scholarships available

Prenatal Consultations

I offer prenatal consultations that can be tailored to meet your needs and interests. Childbirth education, birth plan development, as well as comfort measure techniques. Ranging from 1.5-3 hours depending on the topic, I will come to your home or meet you in a central location.

$75/hour, minimum 2 hours

Postpartum Support

Although I am not a postpartum doula, I am available for short-term postpartum support and consultation. I am well connected to the birth and parenting community in the San Francisco Bay Area and would be happy to refer you to various resources.

$50/hour, minimum 3 hours
